Interesting times

Now that is an amusing image. It makes me chuckle often throughout the day.

There has always been and always will be a breaking point for things that are extended beyond what makes logical sense. If that is God's doing, you can be thankful. Money and power are subject to the natural wear and tear of change-as are mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, glaciers, and any other physical manifestation. This is because there always has to be two sides for any one side to exist and hold meaning. Maybe for once I myself can be relieved that I did not and do not have hundreds of thousands of dollars (or millions...) stashed away in any stock profile or retirement fund. For years I wondered, living in Southern California and making better than average income- "where the fuck is all the money coming from? I can't afford a house in a neighborhood I would actually want to live in..." -I don't know about everyone else, but I remember being taught and believing that with an education, hard work and dedication to a noble career...you too could be entitled to a house, family, cars, vacations, blah blah blah blah blah. It's a fucking mirage! Ha! Buy a wife, err...I mean a house, start a family and watch your well being go to the shitter when you become tired of trying to keep your head above water. Ever heard of "debt-free living?" What the fuck is that? Oh you mean living in as cheap of a room as you can find, no car, no kids, no school, no medical, no insurance? Who walks up to buy a house or condo and says "I got all your money right here, all $700,000 of it...because I live debt free." (???) Not many.

There are fewer of them than there are those that are going to...uh, take out a loan.

The definition of a loan is DEBT.

Herbage

Some photos I took last night in my herb garden. I am playing around with the macro function to see what I can accomplish with this little Nikon S6 I bought 2 1/2 years ago. I bought an underwater housing for it and it is on the way. I may actually be able to get some nice shallow water macro shots from this camera with the flash enabled.

Travel chores, holidays looming, apathy.

Alright I got my immunizations taken care of today. Tetanus, typhoid, hepatitus A and B. Tomorrow I will pick up Malaria medicine which I will begin 1 week before leaving and take during and after the trip for 5 weeks.

It should be stated that although I am getting ready for some serious adventure, melancholia is present. It can be tireless, and I have a severe dose lately. Being shot with needles today for no other reason than to have a bitchen trip was way better than doing it for blood tests and/or contrast solution for CT scans. But I have to make that appointment for next month. Pondering if I should get it done before or after Belize.

Couldn't care less about the presidential pissing contest, the shit filled scandalous economy, or the fact that millions of people always seem to miss the big picture about what exactly is happening to the middle class. Shall we all point our attention back to international bank accounts and a false economy that has sold out to overseas labor? Who got rich doing that? The American PEOPLE? The answer to that ought to be clear to the international community by now. And now that recession has come to shed light on the truth about the economy, the politicians once again want to avoid that truth and make the people pay for their...getting rich. No matter, everyone will go back to their McDonalds happy meals.

You know, I like a Big Mac every once in a while-but eventually if I don't change it up...throw in some wholesome and healthy eats, it will be an indulgance that will have killed me. All that for Ronald McDonald?
